I have created this Blog after numerous e-mails, postings, and online discussions have rendered the traditional modes of online political discourse obsolete and redundant.
The Libertarian Screed truly welcomes all comments and political leanings with the following criteria:
- Please keep it as civilized as humanly possible (taunting & goading are both okay, but unbased derogatives are not going to be productive or interesting).
- Also please try to keep a majority of the discussion as fact-based as possible. Baseless, slanted opinion is available via CNN, Fox, et al...
I'll try to keep the moderation to a minimum (in Libertarian spirit, after all...), but would love to see some reasonably well founded arguments, regardless of one's viewpoint.
As for me: I have adopted a decidedly Libertarian point of view after years of dissatisfaction with both major parties. As such I seek a path of Liberty from both which means to me: Less government and taxation, more self-determination, and personal responsibility, etc.
The 2008 Election Cycle has solidified my viewpoint that the Democrats are a party as lost to self interest and tax-and-spend politics as the Republicans.
Have at it and jump in...
